The Central Government has announced to sell the stakes of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation. The Government is planning to sell 1.5% of ONGC Stakes. According to the officials, the offer for sale will be open on both domestic stock exchanges – BSE and NSE. The stock exchange offer will be available for two days. The offers for sale are open for 30th March 2022 & 31st March 2022.
The price of the offer has been fixed at Rs 159 per share. This is at a 7% discount to the ₹171.05 which was the closing price of ONGC stock on NSE yesterday. The government offers to sell up to 94,352,094 equity shares of the company. Additionally, the government holds up to 60% shares of ONGC. Among 60% share, around 25% is reserved for mutual funds & insurance companies. Rest 10% shares are for retail investors. Moreover, ONGC employees can apply for equity shares worth up to Rs 5 lakh each.
