The sellers in the Gem Portal need to have a GeM registration and then they need to list their products on the GeM portal. Thereafter in 2 ways, sellers can sell their goods to Government buyers Through Bid Participation and Without Bid Participation.
Without BID participation, if the value of the product and services is less than INR 50,000/- they can be sold easily directly to government buyers on the GeM online marketplace. Where buyer can check the product through the online product image and specification given by the seller and after checking all the details buyer can place the order.
With BID participation, the products and service requirements of the Government buyer are published daily on the GeM portal. If the seller is already registered with the GeM portal can check the requirements and the availability of the products and can apply for the bidding process. The BID must have all the information like product specifications, Quantity of the products, and name & address of the department of the products which is required by the Government buyer. The bidding start date and close date should be mentioned.
